Barcelona, Spain: History was made on Saturday night as Spain’s largest MMA promotion AFL staged the first ever major all-female event in western Europe.
In the main event international model & fighter Micol Di Segni (8-3) won the inaugural AFL strawweight title. The Italian defeated valiant French veteran Audrey ‘AK47’ Kerouche with a TKO from top mount position in the third round. The Dana White Contender Series veteran, who also holds a win over Cory McKenna, now claims her first pro title win.
Rising Brazilian prospect Emily Mota (3-0) remained undefeated and became the inaugural AFL atomweight champion with a hard fought win over a game Rita Marrero. Mota, who lives now in Spain, scored the win after landing a number of vicious elbows down onto Marrero forcing the ref to step in.
