Bethe Correia vs. Pannie Kianzad rebooked for UFC event on July 25th.

A bantamweight rescheduling between Bethe ‘Pitbull’ Correia and Pannie ‘Banzai’ Kianzad is expected to feature on a UFC July 25th. card – with a location and venue yet to be announced by the promotion.

Correia and Kianzad were scheduled to meet at the cancelled UFC 250 event on May 9th. – until the entire card was scrapped due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. Correia, 36, recently appeared at UFC Fight Night Mexico City – taking a unanimous decision win over TUF alumni, Sijara Eubanks. The Ultimate Fighter season twenty-eight runner-up, Kianzad – claimed a unanimous decision victory over Jessica Rose-Clark at UFC Fight Night Moscow last November. News of the slated pairing was first reported by Combate writer, Marcelo Barone.

Paraíba native, Correia – rose to prominence back in 2015 – following a trio of wins over Shayna Baszler, Jessamyn Duke, and Julie Kedzie, Correia met with then titleholder, Ronda Rousey. In her native Brazil – Correia headlined UFC 190, losing via first-round knockout to the inaugural champion. In six outings since, the veteran has amassed a 2-3-1 record, losing to future title contender, Raquel Pennington, former titleholder, Holly Holm, and perennial contender, Irene Aldana. Apart from the win over Eubanks – Correia managed a win over future flyweight title chaser, Jessica Eye, and a majority draw with Marion Reneau.

Former Invicta FC challenger, Kianzad returned to 135-pounds following her TUF finale defeat to Macy Chiasson back in November of 2018. Returning to winning ways, the 28-year-old Iranian-born contender picked up a unanimous decision victory over Iony Razafiarison, before a defeat to fellow prospect, Julia Avila. Her victory over Rose-Clark last year – marked the second time in her professional career she had bested the Aussie. Since that professional bow back in April of 2012, Kianzad picked up other notable wins over Milana Dudieva, Annalisa Bucci, and Lina Länsberg.
