Chris Eubank Jr will finally be fighting someone. This weekend Eubank will be fighting against Wanik Awdijan, on Saturday at the Utilita Arena in Newcastle, England.
Eubank (30-2-0) has more wins and a higher KO ratio (22 wins by KO) than Awdijan (28-1-0) with 11 of those wins by KO.
Eubank is the interim WBA middleweight world champion, IBO super-middleweight world champion, and a former British middleweight champion.
This is Awdijan’s first fight in England. Awdijan is ranked the No.9 middleweight in Germany’s rankings, whereas Chris Eubank Jr is ranked number 1 in the WBA’s middleweight rankings.
Eubank was originally due to face former WBA International and IBO Continental middleweight champion, Sven Elbir. Though Elbir had to pull out due to a positive Covid test result back in September.
Anatoli Muratov was scheduled as a late replacement for Elbir. Though on the morning of the fight, Muratov failed his medical on the morning of the fight in early October. Wanik Awdijan is Eubank’s second replacement fight.
