Brad Katona Gets Silenced By Hamza Kooheji Fans After Being Accused Of ‘Trembling In Fear’

It is no secret that Canadian standout Brad “Superman” Katona seeks to have gold around his waist for the first time in his professional mixed martial arts career, but it will come with a heavy price as he needs to accomplish the feat in enemy territory.

Katona is set to lock horns with Bahrani superstar Hamza Kooheji in the latter’s home country for the vacant BRAVE CF Bantamweight World Championship—a scheduled five-round encounter that will serve as the headliner of BRAVE CF 57 on Friday, March 11.

The 30-year-old representative of the world-renowned SBG Ireland already got a taste of what’s ahead of him during the BRAVE CF 57 pre-fight press conference on Wednesday, March 9 after a member of the audience—who seemed to be a fan of his opponent—asked if he feels perturbed with the task at hand.

“Did you say I was trembling in fear? I don’t think I’m trembling in fear,” Katona said with a big smile. “I feel pretty comfortable. “I honestly feel great. I made a career out of this. It has hardened me as a fighter. I haven’t had the hometown advantage my entire career, so I am used to this.”

Katona is actually no stranger to the local audience as he made his maiden BRAVE CF appearance in Bahrain nearly a year ago, submitting Borislav Nikolic with a guillotine choke in the third round.

However, the difference this time around is that the capacity crowd inside the Khalifa Sports City Arena on fight night will be rooting against him.

“You know just like last time, Bahrain’s nothing but hospitable to me, so I’m thankful. I am actually excited to be here again for another fight against a hometown hero. It feels good,” he said.
