Vladyslav Rudniev may be one of the most dangerous men walking the planet, but the Ukrainian battled to stave off the emotions he experienced after making his BRAVE Combat Federation debut in Nantes, France, last week. Rudniev kicked off his BRAVE CF campaign with a hard-fought unanimous decision win over hometown hero Anthony Dizy in their Lightweight co-main event at BRAVE CF 74 last Thursday.
The Ukranian is one of the most respected athletes in Eastern Europe and carries lots of gravitas after becoming a four-time consecutive combat sambo world champion, with titles coming in two different weight classes (74kg and 79kg). While the man has earned the highest honors in one of the toughest disciplines, transitioning to mixed martial arts and fighting for BRAVE Combat Federation was a dream come true for the undefeated warrior.
“I love fighting for BRAVE Combat Federation so much. I am happy to be here,” said Rudniev in his locker room shortly after his victory over Dizy. As the hype of the moment began to settle in, Rudniev moved back to his corner and sat in silence, processing the magnitude of the moment before being overcome with emotion.
While noting the cameraman’s presence in the locker room, Rudniev kept a low profile, covering his face to try and avoid revealing his tears of joy. “I will do everything to impress the fans and one day fight for the Lightweight title. Thank you so much, BRAVE Combat Federation,” concluded Rudniev.
