CFFC, Air National Guard present special FURY PRO card this Sat., Nov. 2

ATLANTIC CITY, N.J. – Cage Fury Fighting Championships (CFFC) and FURY Professional Grappling officials are honored to partner once again with the United States Air Force’s Air National Guard to present another incredibly special submission grappling event on Saturday, November 2, at Virginia’s Joint Base Langley-Eustis.

Featuring current UFC featherweight contender and former CFFC champion Pat Sabatini facing six-time UFC veteran and multiple-time Confederação Brasileira de Jiu-Jitsu Brazilian National Champion Herbert “The Blaze” Burns in the night’s main event, FURY Professional Grappling 11 is an invitation-only spectacular being held for an exclusive in-house audience of both active and prospective service members and their families. The card will also stream live on UFC FIGHT PASS.

Additional matchups already confirmed for this unique event include current UFC lightweight and former CFFC standout Joe Solecki vs. Brazilian jiu-jitsu black belt and Fight Factory head BJJ coach Peter Fazekas, Brazilian jiu-jitsu black belt and two-time CFFC veteran Alex “The Berserker” Myers vs. Ricardo Almeida black belt and Air Force Air National Guard Master Sgt. Leon Jackson, while current UFC lightweight Dennis “The Great” Buzukja will face two-time FURY Professional Grappling winner and recent ADCC U.S. Open gold medalist Christian Bobe.

“For the entire Cage Fury Fighting Championships family, each and every opportunity we have to partner with the United States Armed Forces is a special moment,” CFFC CEO Rob Haydak said. “We’ve showcased unforgettable MMA cards and Division I college wrestling duals on military installations across the country, and now we’re excited to bring submission grappling to Joint Base Langley-Eustis with the action-packed matchups that fans know to expect from FURY Professional Grappling, coupled with the iconic scenes that are created with our nation’s troops in attendance.”

In addition to his MMA accolades, Sabatini is a Brazilian jiu-jitsu black belt and former Division I wrestler at Rider University. A two-time CFFC featherweight champion, Sabatini returns to competition just three weeks after a scintillating submission win over Jonathan Pearce in a UFC Fight Night event in Las Vegas. Sabatini is 3-0 in FURY Professional Grappling appearances, with submission victories over fellow UFC veterans Niko “The Hybrid” Price and Alex “Bruce Leeroy” Caceres, as well as a decision win over grappling standout Andrew Kochel.

Meanwhile, Burns is also a Brazilian jiu-jitsu black belt with more than 20 years of experience, during which he has earned numerous national and international titles at both the junior and senior levels. The founder of the Burns BJJ system, “The Blaze” scored three submission wins under the ONE Championship banner before successfully earning a UFC contract at Dana White’s Contender Series. Burns would go on to score submission victories in the UFC’s famed octagon over Darrick Minner and Evan Dunham, and he now makes his FURY Professional Grappling debut.
