Conor McGregor Hopes for 100 More Fights: “I’m hopeful that I can get a nice consecutive run of bouts”

McGregor’s statement about hoping for 100 more fights may come as a surprise to some, considering his recent injury and lack of activity in the octagon in recent years. However, the Irishman is no stranger to setting ambitious goals for himself, and he’s made it clear that he’s not ready to slow down anytime soon.

One of the biggest obstacles to McGregor’s goal of staying active and racking up more fights is his history of injuries. The former two-division UFC champion has dealt with multiple injuries throughout his career, including the broken leg he suffered in his most recent fight against Dustin Poirier.

But despite those setbacks, McGregor is confident that he can stay healthy and continue to compete at the highest level.

“I’m working on my body a lot, my strength and conditioning,” he said in the Barstool Sports interview. “I’ve got a physical therapist who’s working with me every single day. I’m feeling tremendous, I’m feeling in a great place. So I’m hopeful that I can stay injury-free.”

Of course, McGregor’s future in the UFC is not entirely up to him. The promotion has a say in who he fights and when, and injuries can strike at any time. But McGregor seems determined to make the most of his remaining time in the sport, and he’s excited about the potential matchups that lie ahead.

“There are loads of bouts I could have and I’m excited for every single one of them,” he said. “That’s it, please God let’s make it happen.”

As for his upcoming fight with Michael Chandler, McGregor is confident that he’ll be able to showcase his skills and prove that he’s still one of the best fighters in the world.

“I’m excited to get going,” he said. “It will be my job now on fight night to show the levels and show there is a much higher difference in skill.”

McGregor’s leg injury and subsequent surgery have likely pushed back his return to the octagon, but if his recent comments are any indication, he’s already looking ahead to his next fight – and the one after that, and the one after that.
