Efrain left ‘unimpressed’ by champ Loman ahead of Brave 18

Owner of Brave’s best KO in 2017, Felipe Efrain finally gets a title shot, as he faces bantamweight champion Stephen Loman in the co-main event of Brave 18, set for the Khalifa Sports City, in Bahrain, on November 16th. The brazilian phenom isn’t necessarily worried about the champ’s achievements, as he admits to not being impressed by Loman.

Efrain fought at last year’s groundbreaking Brave 9, which crowned Stephen Loman as the first bantamweight champion in promotional history. The KO artist watched his future foe in action after knocking out Nawras Abzakh in the preliminary card and feels he can take “The Sniper” out.

” I’ve fought in Bahrain when Stephen Loman knocked out his opponent and became the first bantamweight champion. On that day, I saw him fight and I was not impressed by his performance, I feel like I can take him out. I want this bad, I’ve worked hard for this opportunity and now I have that chance. You can be sure I’m training hard, I want to come back home with the title and I want all my fans, my friends, the people who follow me to believe that I’ll come back home with the belt”, says the challenger, who guarantees he’s ready for the champ’s grappling.

“Everyone knows I like to grapple, but thank God I always finish my fights before that, because all of my opponents feel the power of my hands so I don’t have a choice really and they lose. If he tries this grappling strategy on me it’s going to go badly for him, because this is something I train all the time”.

Brave 18 is set to be a groundbreaking event as a part of the historical Brave International Combat Week, Asia’s biggest combat sports festival, alongside the IMMAF world championships. The main event features a lightweight title unification bout as interim champion Lucas Mineiro tries to unify the belts against challenger Abdul-Kareem Al-Selwady and flyweights Marcel Adur and Velimurad Alkhasov look to become the inaugural Brave champion at 57 kg.
