One name fight fans should look out for on this week’s Combate Americas card is rising bantamweight Jose Avalos, who makes his debut with the promotion.
Avalos is 3-1 on the strength of back-to-back stoppage victories for Tachi Palace. Avalos, 27, tells FightBook MMA that fans shouldn’t blink when he steps into the cage, and that he has massive goals for the future.
“I’m excited to be on the big stage and being able to build a name for myself, so I can be an inspiration to those around me,” the fast-rising Parlier, Calif. product says. “My goal as a fighter is to make a lot of money. So many guys risk their lives for peanuts; I’m doing everything I can to build the sport as I build my name.”
