Four Kazakh Stars To Watch At BRAVE CF 53

Up-and-coming mixed martial arts superstars from Kazakhstan have found a home for their elite skills in BRAVE Combat Federation.

On August 21st, the promotion will be showcasing a predominantly young group of the country’s homegrown talents in front of their compatriots in Almaty at the highly-anticipated BRAVE CF 53.

Before these heroes step into the cage, united in their determination to put on a show and make their home fans proud, let’s get to know the gallant men proudly donning the Kazakh bi-color of sky blue and bright yellow.

Nurzhan Akishev

Ranked as the No. 5 featherweight in Central Asia, Nurzhan “Bizon” Akishev will be taking centerstage at BRAVE CF 53 as he is scheduled to lock horns with unbeaten South Korean standout Tae Kyun “Ares” Kim in a three-round clash.

The 28-year-old grappling maestro holds a stellar professional record of 11-3 with eight victories by submission and two via knockout, and prior to his promotional debut this past January, he was riding high on a four-fight winning streak.

Akishev eyes redemption after losing to Roman Bogatov via unanimous decision at BRAVE CF 46. However, the man standing in his re-entry to the winner’s circle is Kim, who has been on a roll with three consecutive victories under the organization’s banner.

A possible shot at the vacant BRAVE CF Featherweight World Championship could be on the horizon if either one of them will be able to secure the decisive win in the main event.

Vasiliy Takhtay

A blue-chip recruit is set to make his maiden appearance at BRAVE CF 53 as Vasiliy Takhtay faces fellow newcomer Roger Sampaio in a 160-pound catchweight contest.

Takhtay owns an unblemished 8-0 slate and has only gone the distance once in his career. Five of his eight victories have won by knockout, while two have come by way of submission.

He faces a competitor who also has the same knack for finishes in the form of Sampaio, who has a 9-1 record with four knockouts and three submissions.

Asu Almabaev

Rated as the No. 3 flyweight in Central Asia, Asu “Zulfikar” Almabaev will have his big break on the international stage as he dukes it out against Ukraine’s Aleksander Doskalchuk.

Almabaev has a 12-2 standing with six submissions and two knockouts, In addition, he hasn’t tasted defeat since April 2017, boasting an eight-bout victory parade with four wins by submission.

The 27-year-old plans to put the division on notice and face the winner of the BRAVE CF Flyweight World Title Tournament, which is currently in the semi-final phase.

Azat Maksum

Azat “Kazakh” Maksum is one of the top flyweights to emerge from Kazakhstan in recent history, possessing a pristine 12-0 record with five submission victories and four knockouts.

His beautiful combination of solid striking and grappling skills has proven to be a potent formula for success as he remains unbeaten so far in his MMA career.

Maksum looks to wreak havoc inside the BRAVE CF cage as he squares off with Brazil’s Flavio “Flavinho” de Queiroz in a three-round flyweight tussle.
