Henry Cejudo Joins the Dominance FC Broadcast Team: A New Era in MMA Broadcasting

One month ago, three times Olympian and retired UFC veteran Mark O. Madsen announced the launch of his own MMA organization called Dominance Fighting Championships with its first event confirmed for the 21st of September in K.B. Hallen in Copenhagen, Denmark.
Now Madsen is ready to unveil the first notable name for the broadcast team, who will be guiding viewers through the event. Olympic gold medalist and former two-division UFC Champion Henry Cejudo will bring his deep knowledge of combat sports to the booth as commentator.
“Triple C” has reached the pinnacle of freestyle wrestling and MMA as a competitor, he’s coached the likes of Jon Jones, Demetrious Johnson, and Zhang Weili, he’s co-hosting The Pound 4 Pound Podcast, available on YouTube and across all audio platforms, with former UFC Champion Kamaru Usman, and he’s also commentated for Khabib Nurmagomedov’s MMA promotion Eagle Fighting Championships, so the viewers for DFC 01 will without question be in good hands:
“What I bring to the commentating team is my credentials, my experience, and my honesty. I’m a person that is honest. I don’t take sides. I want to make sure, that I’m giving the right assessments, and that I’m being as truthful as I possibly can. To me it’s all fair game. Whether you’re a wrestler, a muay thai fighter or a jiu-jitsu world champion, it doesn’t matter, I will sit there and tell the truth. There’s a lot of commercial guys in there [the sport] that just want to be good guys, but not all fans are always going to like you. We have to give proper assessments.”
Cejudo is excited about the first Dominance FC event, but he also has high hopes for the promotion’s future:
“I think the sky is the limit. What Mark is doing, he’s transitioning from Olympian to former UFC fighter, and now he’s becoming a promoter. He’s going to be able to give opportunities to so many European talents, and [Dominance FC] will become the Mecca and the home to a lot of fighters from Europe, and possibly a feeder to the UFC.”
As previously announced the Greco-Roman wrestling standout Rajbek Bisultanov will be making his professional MMA debut at Dominance FC 01. Cejudo knows all about the transition from the wrestling mats to the cage and offered some advice to the Chechen-born Dane, as he enters this new chapter of his career:
“My main focus, when I started out fighting, was to really get the techniques down, understand the striking game, and that was, what I was able to do. So, when I did that, it made everything so much easier, because I already had the wrestling down, and then, when I added boxing to it, I was able to focus on MMA as a whole. You have to take what wrestling has showed you, the experience and the knowledge that wrestling has taught you through the years. It’s definitely a process, but for [Rajbek Bisultanov], the key is, he already has the best base, and that is called wrestling.”
In closing, “Triple C” elaborated on how his relationship with Madsen came about in the first place:
“I’d known of Mark through wrestling for quite some time. His name would often come up in the American Greco-Roman circles, because he was beating our best guy, and he was really good, but Mark would have his way with him every single time. But then Mark came to the UFC, he signed with Ali Abdelaziz. I’d never really had a chance to get to know him before then, but then we met up when Mike Tyson had his event [AEW Dynamite], and ever since then we became friends. As a two-division champ, I tried to guide him through everything we were doing for MMA. That’s how our relationship started. Then he moved out to Phoenix, to the gym that I trained at, [Fight Ready], and I was just able to help him as much as I possibly could with his fight [against Clay Guida] and with his fighting style.”
