Jesse Bazzi: “I’m Excited to Get This Win!”
Before Jesse Bazzi returns to action in the main event of Motor City Cage Night in his native Michigan on the weekend, the top bantamweight prospect sat down with FightBookMMA.
How has training camp been going for this fight?
It’s been going great. No problems. I’ve had plenty of time to get into the right shape and tone up my skill set.
How excited are you to get back in the cage?
I’m really excited, man. This is the longest I’ve ever been off. I haven’t fought since November. Which may not sound too long, but I’m used to fighting every couple of months.
How much have you improved since November?
Not just November, but the fight before that really helped me find things I need to work on. Through certain aspects of the November fight, I’ve learned where I’m looking at. I’ve took this time to make sure I’ve improved a lot.
Do back-to-back losses affect the way you’re approaching this fight?
It’s business as usual, but I’m very hungry to get this win. I’m going to come out real aggressive and try to finish this. I’m excited to get this win.
How do you see this one playing out?
I honestly see it as a submission within two rounds. I think I’ll dominate the standup. I know this guy, he’s a judo/jiujitsu guy so he’s going to try to close the distance. He’ll make a mistake and while he’s taking it to the ground, I’m going to submit him.
