Khamzat Chimaev Feels Bilal Tipsaev Did Enough To Win At BRAVE CF 54

Khamzat Chimaev, one of the highly-touted mixed martial artists in the world today, had some sort of a homecoming over the weekend as he was in attendance for BRAVE Combat Federation’s maiden event in Konin, Poland.

The Russian-born Swede served as the chief cornerman of Bilal “Borz” Tipsaev, who competed on the supporting card of BRAVE CF 54 last Saturday, September 25 against Glenn McVeigh in a bantamweight encounter.

The match-up lived up to the promise of a galvanizing encounter between two up-and-coming combatants from a division that houses a deep pool of talent.

Tipsaev and McVeigh figured in an intense war of attrition for three whole rounds. It was an incredible performance from the two promising athletes as they both showcased their full repertoire of skills.

It was neck-and-neck from start to finish, but most pundits thought that Tipsaev was already pulling away in the second round before the referee deducted a point from him when he poked his finger inside the mouth of McVeigh.

With the referee taking a point from Tipsaev, it reflected on the ledgers of the three judges at cageside as the bout ended in an anticlimactic draw with three 28-28 scores across the board.

Chimaev believes if not for the point deduction in the second round, Tipsaev could have walked away with the victory.

“I actually think he won the fight. The first round was his. The second round could have gone to his opponent. But he closed out really strong. It was a tough fight. I just hope they can settle in a rematch,” Chimaev stated.

As of this writing, the top brass of the organization has yet to confirm if both men will have the chance to run it back, but both sides seem eager for the rematch.
