KSW legend Michal Materla faces Czech star Patrik Kincl at KSW 53

KSW legend & former middleweight champion Michal Materla (22-7) has been added to the star-studded KSW 53 card at the Atlas Arena in Lodz, Poland on March 21 and his opponent will be the debuting Patrik Kincl (22-9) of the Czech Republic.

Materla is one of the most popular fighters in Poland and has long been one of the best middleweights on the European continent with career wins over the likes of Rousimar Palhares, Paulo Thiago, Kendall Grove, Tomasz Drwal, and Jay Silva. He also has an incredible twenty-one finishes to his name, including scoring knockouts in his past seven victories.

The 35-year-old is coming off a failed attempt to win back the middleweight title after suffering a third round stoppage loss to Scott Askham at KSW 49 last May in what was a fight of the year candidate. Now the veteran is ready to welcome new blood into KSW and attempt work his way back to the top of the division.

Originally slated to make his KSW debut last year, Patrik Kincl comes into the promotion in flying form and with a fierce reputation behind him. The 30-year-old is on a 9-1 run since 2015 with a host of impressive wins over tough opposition and seasoned veterans on the European circuit. Overall Kincl has a 72% finishing ratio and has proven to be incredibly well-rounded ever since making his debut back in 2007.
