After nearly two years Kyle Kingsbury is physically and mentally ready to make a comeback to the cage this July 26th in San Jose, California on Fox 12.
Kyle Kingsbury (11-5) first debuted on The Ultimate Fighter in 2008. Kingsbury however lost to Ryan Bader for a spot on the show. However, due to injuries he was brought back into the show, where he faced Tom Lowry where he was defeated via unanimous decision on the preliminary card at the The Ultimate Fighter 8 Finale event. Even with no wins in The Ultimate Fighter the UFC decided to keep him signed.
Kyle Kingsbury then went on to go on an impressive four fight win streak with wins over Al-Hassan, Jared Hamman, Richard Romero and Fabio Maldonado. However, this streak didn’t last and he is now suffering three losses to Stephan Bonnar, Glover Teixeira and Jimi Manuwa and we haven’t seen him in the cage since his last loss to Manuwa back in September of 2012.
Patrick Cummings (5-1) made his debut in a highly profiled fight against Daniel Cormier stepping in for the injured Rashad Evans on very short notice at UFC 170.
The 32 year old Cummings dream of going from a coffee barista to an UFC star over night did not go well for him that night. Cummings was quickly smashed by the hard hitting hands of Cormier being knocked out quickly in the first minute of first round.
Last weekend in Alberque New Mexico, Cummings took on Roger Narvaez in his second appearance in the octagon. His wrestling abilities served him well and he was able to pick up his first win finishing the undefeated Narvaez in the second round.
