Axel Sola Leaves Door Open Of Moving Down To Super Lightweight After BRAVE CF 54

When French standout Axel Sola joined BRAVE Combat Federation earlier this year, he was one of the several highly-touted prospects signed by the promotion to beef up the talent-laden super welterweight division.

Sola had a remarkable run as an amateur competitor, owning a 19-5 record with six submission victories and one by way of knockout.

He was once heralded by the International Mixed Martial Arts Federation as the No. 1 pound-for-pound prospect in Europe with his exploits in the governing body’s various multinational tournaments.

Though he competed as a middleweight for the majority of his amateur career, Sola opted to move down to super welterweight when he turned pro under the BRAVE CF banner this past March.

At BRAVE CF 49: Super Fights, Sola shined bright like a diamond in his first assignment as a pro, submitting Croatia’s Kuitty Begaj with an arm-triangle choke in the very first round.

The 24-year-old Frenchman returns to action on September 25th, taking on Poland’s Wawrzyniec Bartnik in a three-round super welterweight clash at BRAVE CF 54.

However, it seems that it will be his last outing at 175 pounds as he signified plans of moving down to super lightweight or lightweight after his bout against Bartnik.

“It’s probably the last fight that I will do in this division because at this level of competition, the guys are getting heavier and more skillful. At some point, I won’t be technically good enough to carry weight in my career,” he bared.

“So I’m thinking about going to super lightweight. If I cut more weigh, maybe lightweight.”

Sola will be having a new set of challenges if he decides to move down to the 165-pound weight class, a bracket lorded by BRAVE CF Super Lightweight World Champion Eldar Eldarov.

Meanwhile, he will be getting a piece of the action at 155 pounds on September 25 as Amin “Fierceness” Ayoub defends his BRAVE CF Lightweight World Championship against Ahmed “The Butcher” Amir in the main event.

Sola may have a clear picture as to what he wants to do next, but he needs to get past Bartnik first at BRAVE CF 54 before anything else.
