Major League Wrestling Fusion 147 Recap And Results

MLW returns to a packed house at Gilly’s in Texas for Fusion #147. After last week’s attack on champion Alex Hammerstone during a “match” with “El Jefe” Cesar Duran. The Texas crowd is anxious to see what will unfold in the remaining weeks leading up to Battle Riot. With the numbers growing every day of confirmed wrestlers, the real question is how many of these wrestlers will make it to New York with enough strength to take on 39 other wrestlers for the shot at Hammerstone’s title. But before we get deeper into a PPV that hasn’t fully been written yet, tonight’s action is the best you can get with a grudge match, a tag team battle for the ages, and two of Mexico’s biggest stars and rivals will close out the show as the main event.
NZO vs KC Navarro
Throughout the past few months, KC Navarro had a target on his back when it comes to NZO, Navarro was put out of commission for a couple of months due to an injury sustained by an attack from NZO, and NZO was then suspended. These two men have been dying to get their hands on each other and possibly grill this beef up and have the entire MLW crowd eat it up. NZO enters the ring wearing an American Flag lumberjack hat and his infamous leopard print robe and does what he does best, get on the mic and cut a promo. NZO’s promo was about how Navarro and he met at a wrestling signing, and Navarro asked Enzo for help. Navarro came to NZO’s boxing gym and according to NZO, Navarro had gotten squashed on two different visits. NZO then lets the crowd know that he has all the respect in the world for Navarro due to the fact Navarro has the heart of a lion and always came back after his beating. Navarro now enters the ring with a thousand-yard stare rather than his usual charismatic entrance, he is letting NZO know he means business and is all about revenge. Once the bell rang NZO’s size and strength appeared to be too much for Navarro, stopping any attempt at momentum and tossing the young up-and-coming superstar like a piece of cloth in a dryer. Unfortunately for NZO, he let his emotions get the better of him, as he tries to dive on Navarro in the corner and misses hitting his head on the ring post. Navarro sprints into action and rolls NZO up into a pin not allowing the decade-long vet the opportunity to kick out. Just like when the 123 Kid pinned Razor Ramon on Raw, Navarro takes off celebrating with the crowd leaving NZO confused and frustrated by the loss. We can rest assured, that these two will meet again.
Winner: KC Navarro
Tag Team Mexican Death Match: Los Parks vs Gangrel & Pagano
Since joining up with AEW, Gangrel has formed a faction with Hollidead, Dr. Dax, and Aramis, but on this date, he is teaming up with a Mexican Death Match Legend in Pagano, and they will be taking on Los Parks. As the bell is about to ring, “El Jefe” Cesar Duran had come out to bring the crowd at Gilly’s a real treat and changed the rules from a Tag Team Match into a Mexican Death Match. Bottom line is, that everything goes and there are no rules! The majority of this match felt more like a no count-out rather than a death match. The wrestlers fought everywhere on the outside and inside the ring but did not use weapons until close to the end of the match. These wrestlers are treating the crowd at Gilly’s a Mexican wrestling treat with high flying spots, and beautiful chain wrestling. All four of these men are looking to get their opportunity to face Hustle and Power in a tag team championship match in the future, especially Los Parks. None of these teams are getting the upper hand over each other, every move has a counter from both sides, and the excitement of the match is felt not just in the arena, but for us watching at home. As we are getting ready for the end of the match to be coming up, Pagano pulls out chairs and his famous BBQ skewers to try and dig in the scalps of Los Parks. Pagano begins to get the upper hand and actually pulls off the mask of one of the Los Parks members. The extreme disrespect has the crowd angry and confused, but the Mask was on enough for the public not to see what he looks like. The referee now grabs a chair out of Pagano’s hand which is strange because it is a Death Match, Now Los Parks are upset and grab the BBQ skewers and sticks them into the skull of Pagano, now that Gangrel is being kept busy outside, Pagano can’t keep up now that he has wooden sticks sticking out of his skull looking like rays of sunshine beaming out of his skull. Los Parks is able to get the win by pinfall and now moves one step closer to possibly regaining their MLW Tag Team Championships.
Winner Los Parks
Flamita vs Bandido
Our final match of the evening doesn’t deserve to be on free television, it should be on a PPV making the world pay for them to wrestle because they are just that good. In a grudge match that has been boiling over since both of them wrestle in Mexico and can not stand each other. The match was a back and forth battle keeping the fans standing and not wanting to miss a moment of the action. There is nothing better than authentic Luchador wrestling, giving the crowd every high spot they can. The exposed hardwood floors in Gilly’s is an added unforgiving weapon to both wrestlers as they jump off the top rope onto one another while twisting and turning in mid-air. Bandido is showing the MLW crowd why he is Mexico’s most wanted, stifling every comeback attempt Flamita tries. Flamita even gives an homage to Rey Mysterio JR and hits a beautiful 619 after smashing Bandido’s head into the turnbuckle. The tide seemed to change for a brief moment and it looked as though Bandido had run out of steam and is now being taken control of by Flamita. Flamita is now beginning to get cocky and arrogant, giving Bandido time to recover this becomes the downfall for Flamita in the match. Flamita bounces off the ropes trying to spear Bandido, but Flamita is hoisted up on Bandidos shoulder and thrown down into a knee to the face and is now pinned for the 3 count. Bandiddo is now proving to the world that he is the best wrestler out there, and could quite possibly be the next Middleweight champion in MLW if he stays on the path he is on now.
Winner: Bandido
