Following the recent article published where Mike Bourke details his conversation with the Wyoming Athletic Commission and the situation with Shawne Merriman, Adam LeBarr reached out to the commission to confirm Bourke’s statement.
A member on board at the Wyoming Athletic Commission would confirm that Merriman in fact did not have a fighter application turned in and physicals were not completed, and that his fight with Bourke was simply speculation.
At first, after the findings of Bourke’s more recent fight in Romania, the commission would not approve Bourke to fight. Bourke would contact the commission and members of, provide new footage of his training, weight loss, etc., in which they would later approve him “pending opponent.”
Ultimately, Bourke would have no opponent for WBKFF 1: Rise Of The Titans, and is hoping for a fight in the near future with the company, eyeing Tyler King.
In cased you missed Bas Rutten’s statement (with 2 updates) on the lead up to the promotions debut event, HERE IT IS.
