MMA Super Cup Announces Inaugural Match-ups

The draw for the first-ever MMA Super Cup took place this Monday, at the Grand Wyndham Garden Manama, in the Kingdom of Bahrain, with the four seeded nations knowing their opponents for the quarter-final of the largest amateur tournament in the history of the sport.

The MMA Super Cup will oppose eight nations in eliminatory rounds, with the top three winning huge cash prizes. The national federation which takes home the trophy will also win US$100,000, while the second-placed team wins US$75,000, and third place takes home US$50,000, all directed at funding the next generation of fighters nationally.

The most anticipated match-up of the quarter-finals is the confrontation between RMMAU and the Republic of Ireland, due to the rivalry existing between both teams in the sport.

Another match-up that is sure to leave fans on the edge of their seats is the Bahrain vs Tajikistan confrontation, as both teams have recently made vast improvements, with Bahrain being the number one senior nation in the last World Championships.

Finally, Kazakhstan and Ukraine will meet the Balkan Champions and Arab Champions, respectively. The MMA Super Cup is jointly organized by the IMMAF, KHK Sports, Bahrain MMA Federation, and BRAVE Combat Federation. It takes place from March 8th to March 12th, during the BRAVE International Combat Week, alongside the BRAVE CF 57 event, which will feature a triple title headliner, with Bantamweight, Light Heavyweight, and interim Lightweight gold on the line.
