In the past time, it would be hard to consider the best women MMA fighters, but now it has become a simple task. With the emergence of Ronda Rousey in 2012, UFC finally decided to bring several MMA fighters on board.
These women fighters had proven themselves that they could be as powerful and ruthless fighters as their male counterparts. The success of women in MMA has been incredible to consider. Their outstanding bouts and staggering knockouts have stolen the heart of many fans.
On that note, women are responsible for some of the craziest and most breathtaking performances the sports have ever seen.
1. Amanda Nunes vs Cris Cyborg (UFC 232, 2018)
Amanda Nunes’s knockout win over Cris Cyborg was one of the most remarkable in UFC history. Cyborg had not lost any fight in 13 years and knocked out everyone violently, whereas Nunes had won the Bantamweight title a few years earlier, so it was a Champion vs Champion bout. As a result, most people expected this matchup to be a drawn-out contest, considering their experiences.

The result of the bout had left fans in a state of shock. Nunes dropped down to Cyborg in just 51 seconds. It was not easy as it seemed; however, those 51 seconds started with Cyborg initially having success. However, with some quick punches from Nunes, she etched her name in the history books to become the top MMA fighter.
2. Holly Holm vs Ronda Rousey (UFC 193, 2015)
Holly Holm’s knockout over Ronda Rousey is still considered one of the most shocking fights in UFC history. Rowdy Ronda Rousey was considered a superstar of the fighting world; she was the heavy favorite for her submissions and appeared on the magazine’s cover, and was interviewed internationally. On the other hand, Holm was riding an unbeaten 9-0 record into this fight. She had also been a former boxing champion in several weight classes.

Rousey could not survive the Holm strike. And in the second round of the fight, Rousey caught the second powerful kick on the face and was forced down to the ground. This was the changing moment in MMA’s history that people will always remember.
3. Zhang Weili vs Rose Namajunas (UFC 261, 2021)
Rose Namajunas emerged as the new talent of the strawweight champion at UFC 261 in April. She previously won the title in 2017 but continuously struggled with the challenge of being a world champion. Zhang defeated Andrade in 2019 and reigned as Champion until UFC 261.

Weili opened up with a few leg kicks, but Namajunas stayed stronger while Namajunas produced a memorable moment at UFC 261 as she caught Weili with a clean head kick in the first round. Whereas, she continued to fight with several kicks to become a UFC champion.
4. Amanda Nunes vs Valentina Shevchenko (UFC 196, 2016)
Amanda Nunes and Valentina Shevchenko are the two most dominant fighters in MMA. This confrontation against one another was the ultimate dream. Fans were able to witness the fight at UFC 196.

It was a massive back-and-forth match. Nunes dominated the second round until the end of the third round Shevchenko barely survived and would gain some control. In the third round, Shevchenko woke up and started striking with vicious blows. Nunes landed 39 shots as compared to Shevchenko. But, in the end, Nunes landed the series of damaging strikes and showed Shevchenko down. It was a third-row victory for Nunes, whereas Shevchenko lost for the first time in six years’ history.
5. Joanna Jendrzejczyk vs. Zhang Weili (UFC 248, 2020)
As described by MMA Journalist, Rody Cruz in his research paper for Dissertation Assistance, this fight was one of the most deadly bouts in combat history. For five rounds at UFC 248, Jedrzejczyk and Zhang went to war.
At the start, it was considered a new champ vs old guard fight, but after 25 min, everyone knew we had the best vs best. It was a chance for Joanna to show her talent after losing the title to Rose Namajunas. You’ll swear that this was a dogfight between Joanna Jedrzejczyk and Zhang Weili.

These two were gone kick for kick, punch for punch, and elbow for the elbow. This was a hard moment for them to hold their breath, and the same was true for the audience. The result was in favor of Zhang, whereas Jedrzejczyk suffered her fourth continuous loss in the championship fight, but this will be remembered as one of the best fights.
6. Valentina Shevchenko vs Jessica Eye (UFC 238, 2019)
UFC 238 was the vision of one of the most scarring knockouts. Valentina Shevchenko won the vacant UFC women flyweight title in 2018 against Jessica Eye. She was 14-6 going into the fight.

Shevchenko repeatedly kicked the Eye’s body throughout the first round, which allowed her to find an opportunity. In the second round, Shevchenko knocked some bullet-landed body kicks before throwing her perfectly placed scary head kick, which was the deliberate action she took in the fight.
