Dhiego Lima (9-2) has a new opponent for his sophomore appearance inside of the Octagon, as undefeted Brazilian Jorge Oliveira (7-0) steps up on short notice to replace the injured Pawel Pawlak.
The two will meet on the preliminary portion of the UFC Fight Night 56 event, which is scheduled to be held this Saturday night in Uberlandia, Minas Gerais, Brazil. The main card airs on FOX Sports 1 following prelims on FOX Sports 2 and UFC Fight Pass.
Lima will be making his second UFC appearance after having lost to Eddie Gordan last time out in the TUF 19 Finale, and subsequently finishing as runner up in the series. Previously on a 3 -fight win streak before the set back to the aforementioned Eddie Gordan, Lima will be looking to secure his first UFC victory. A purple belt in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, Lima holds 5 submission wins and 4 first round finishes so far in his career, he was also the only guy on season 19 of The Ultimate Fighter to finish both of his opponents in the house.
His opponent Jorge Oliveira (7-0) is making his UFC debut, a 28 year old undefeated Brazilian, who has a 7-0 record, impressively all finishes, amassing 5 knockouts and 2 submissions so far in his career as a mixed martial artist. He is taking this fight on short notice, but it is in Brazil which will be more favourable for the debutant.
