Former UFC fighter and host of MTV Bully beat down Jason “Mayhem” Miller was arrested yesterday following a stand off with police at the fighters home in Orange County California, the standoff took place when police tried to serve warrants, including three counts of alleged domestic violence, stalking, and violation of a court order.
The Orange County Sheriff’s department released the following statement following Miller’s arrest: “At approximately 10:00 a.m. this morning, deputies attempted to serve the outstanding arrest on Miller in the driveway of the residence located at 26262 Avenida Calidad. Miller fled on foot and retreated into the residence where he remained barricaded for approximately four hours. Numerous commands and directives were made to Miller in an attempt to gain his compliance and surrender to deputies.
“As a result of Miller barricading himself in the residence and failure to comply with deputies’ directives to exit the residence, the Orange County Sheriff’s Department’s Special Weapons and Tactics (SWAT) Team and the Crisis Negotiations Team (CNT) responded. After several unsuccessful attempts to establish verbal communication with Miller, SWAY and Hazardous Device Squad (HDS) investigators conducted a remote breach of the front door as a means of compromising the door locks. Immediately following the remote breach, Miller exited the residence through a rear door and surrendered to deputies by lying on the ground with his hands exposes. Miller was taken into custody uninjured during the incident.”
There was an uproar on social media during the aforementioned standoff as Mayhem live-tweeted the incident. Jason’s last tweet before his arrest read: “now the broke my window with some box with a phone in it, and AR-15s. THEY ARE TERRIFIED, and they have all the guns. Scaring my hotdog (Miller’s pet dog, Gator Dog).”
This incident is the latest in a series of run-ins with the law Miller has experienced since retiring from pro MMA in May 2012, which include being arrested naked in a church and charged with vandalism.
Miller is currently being held in Orange County Jail on $200,000 bail and is set to appear in court next Tuesday, October 14th.
