On a night full of action with ten fights that took place inside the José Sulaiman Arena, Combate Américas filled with emotion those attending the event and all those who saw the transmission through the platform DAZN, Univisión, and Univisión Deportes, as well as those who tuned in to Facebook Watch all over the world.
In the co-main event, John “Sexi Mexi” Castañeda (17-4) became the most victorious fighter in Combat Americas, defeating Marcelo “Pitbull” Rojo (15-6) by submission via Arm triangle midway through the third round. With this victory, Castañeda bounces of two consecutive defeats placing himself again in the path of victory and took the opportunity to request a rematch against José “El Pochito” Alday fighter who lost in his last outing.
In one of the most outstanding fights of the night, the former fighter and boxer who debuted in the MMA within Combate Americas, Sweet “Sexy” Garcia, overwhelmingly defeated Mariana “Mana” Ruiz by unanimous decision. “Sexy Sweet” managed to connect several times while the fight was developing on their feet; but most surprising of all was his ability to defend attacks, jujitsu techniques, and transitions. In addition, the star of the Mexican fight boasted a great physical condition that allowed him to take the victory.
The preliminaries were loaded with very entertaining finishes and fights, including several submissions, and a technical knockouts.
