Former British strongman and UFC veteran Oli Thompson (20-11) has replaced Denis Stojnic on late notice to face Ante Delija this Saturday at KSW 51 in Zagreb, Croatia.
KSW officials confirmed the replacement this afternoon after Stojnic had to withdrew due to an undisclosed injury. Thompson returns to KSW after a four year absence. Since then the 39-year-old has kept active winning the prestigious IGF heavyweight title in Japan before have two high profile and competitive fights against Matt Mitrione and Cheick Kongo. Thompson is currently on a 3-1 run with the three wins coming by way of stoppage.
Very few heavyweight fighters possess the physical presence of Croatia’s Ante ‘Walking Trouble’ Delija (16-3). Standing at 6ft 5in, this man mountain already has a hugely impressive fight resume. The 29-year-old comes into KSW with back to back wins in RIZIN & PFL and also has career victories over former UFC champion Ricco Rodriguez and Valentijn Overeem. A protégé of the legendary Mirko Cro Cop, Delija possesses a 75% finishing ratio and will be aiming to make a statement in front of his home nation with another finish at KSW 51.
KSW 51 takes place this Saturday, November 9 from the Arena Zagreb in Zagreb, Croatia and will be headlined by a monster main event between five times worlds strongest man Mariusz Pudzianowski (12-7) and Bosnian bodybuilder & social media star Erko Jun (3-0).
