Oscar De La Hoya tests positive for COVID-19 out of Vitor Belfort fight
Oscar De La Hoya has tested positive for COVID-19 and will not fight Vitor Belfort,.
De La Hoya did say he is fully vaccinated. The 48-year-old was scheduled to face Belfort, a former UFC champion, on the Triller card on Sept. 11.
Oscar made the announcement in a video from the hospital on his IG account and you can see the video below.
Ryan Kavanaugh told ESPN that Evander Holyfield has agreed to terms to step in and fight Belfort. Kavanaugh did state that the contracts call for pro-fight rules contested over eight two-minute rounds. The California State Athletic Commission refused to sanction Holyfield-Belfort, sources told ESPN’s Marc Raimondi.
