Saturday September 12, 2015– December 19th 2015 UFC Fight Night in Orlando will headline Donald Cowboy Cerrone getting his title shot against the Lightweight champion Rafael Dos Anjos. As every MMA fan is at the edge of their seats for this rematch, the card its self is already stacked. JDS vs The Reem, TUF winner Kamura Usman vs Leon Edwards, and TUF runner-up Hayder Hassan will also be in action. Those are just some of the big fights on the card for the last UFC event of the year.
Today another fight was added, the #5 ranked Women’s Bantamweight contender in the world Sarah Kaufman (17-2) will go against the #15 ranked Women’s Bantamweight contender Germaine De Randamie (5-3). With this division already stacked with a lot of competition, both Randamie and Kaufman are in desperate need of a win. With Raquel Pennington winning at UFC191, she has to be poised to make her way back into the top 15. Which is bad news for Germaine as she is the 15th ranked fighter. Everyone knows that Ronda is the main goal, but as good as she is, the first goal for these two women is to get the win and look for a bounce back fight with someone in the top 5.
Randamie De Germaine is a bit of a veteran in MMA, training out of AKA in San Jose California the bar is set high to be a champion. Winning 20 out of her last 3, Randamie is looking to keep rolling and get this win over Kaufman. Randamie has a kickboxing, and Muay Thai background, 2 of her career wins come by way of KO. Which leaves you to believe that she can be deadly on her feet and even better when she uses the Muay Thai and gets you to the ground. Randamie’s main goal in this fight is to use her strengths to overwhelm Kaufman and look for the early finish.
Sara Kaufman is a veteran to the MMA world. She started her professional career in 2006. With a background in kickboxing and having a Brown belt in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, Kaufman has more than enough skills to win this fight. While back in Strike Force Kaufman was the Women’s Bantamweight champion before loosing it to Marloes Coenen by way of arm bar. Following that loss she received another shot down the line against Ronda Rousey and lost that bout by way of arm bar in the first round. In her last fight she lost to Alexis Davis by submission at UFC186, capping off her last three fights with a loss, win, and no contest. A win for Kaufman here will get her back on the right track and possibly find herself inline for another shot at Ronda.
Kaufman and Randamie are both great competitors and both have the ability for an early finish. The key for both fighters is to exploit the others weaknesses and capitalize on them. For both women take this win and get ready for a tougher challenge down the line and start making your way up the ladder.
