It seems that although Rashad Evans has publicly expressed a desire to fight Alexander Gustafsson, it won’t be happening anytime soon.
After tearing his ACL back in February, Evans was eager to get back in the Octagon, provided his body was ready. Talk of facing Alexander Gustafsson on his return was welcomed, under the condition of Evans testing out his knee and feeling comfortable with the results.
As it turns out, after testing out the knee in training, the Blackzilian team member doesn’t feel like his body is ready just yet, and couldn’t commit to fighting the Swede anytime soon, he was apparently talked out of taking the fight by his management team.
Evans though is targeting a return back into the Octagon around March 2015.
