Raufeon “Supa” Stots Defends Belt on Dec.16th at Victory Fighting Championship

OMAHA, NEBRASKA (Tue, December 12, 2017)– VFC 59 will take place on Saturday, December 16th at the Baxter Arena in Omaha, Nebraska.

This event will be Victory Fighting Championship’s first show on UFC FIGHT PASS® under its new ownership of Alliance MMA. This event will start at 9 p.m. ET / 8 p.m. CT / 6 p.m. PT.

Raufeon Stots headlines VFC Saturday Dec.16th at Baxter Arena in Omaha, Nebraska vs Hawaiian native Arnold Berdon. Tickets can be purchased thru cagetix.com and will be televised on UFC Fight Pass. Stots will defend his Bantamweight belt for the first time since winning the title in April, 2017 vs Robert Emerson (at the time a VFC current 2 division Belt holder) in a very convincing decision victory over Emerson, in which “Supa” put on a wrestling clinic performance, that Stots appeared to dominate from bell to bell.

Stots a professional fighter for 3 years now, was born and raised in Texas, wrestled as a youth eventually wrestling for University of Nebraska Kearney. Which lead him to meet Jens Pulver then to helping people wrestle at Pulvers MMA gym also in Kearney, Nebraska. After a while Stots started training at Pulvers gym, resulting in Jens recommending Stots train at Champions- a well-known Pat Miletich ran MMA gym in Iowa. Stots mentioned, “Jens is like a big brother to me, I call him with any of my MMA inquiries when ever I need to. In fact i just called him last week to wish him a happy birthday.” Stots eventually moved to Milwaukee, Wisconsin to train at Roufusport Gym where Stots trains currently with World Class fighters such as Sergio Pettis, Anthony Pettis, Paul Felder just to name a couple. Stots added “we’ve got a star-studded cast at our gym, with a oF of different styles”.

When I asked Stots his opinion on which promotion he favored at the top, Stots informed me “That UFC was is in his opinion the best option for him when you combine the fact that the UFC is the pinnacle of MMA, with the best exposure, and benefits like insurance”

When I asked Stots what he knew about his opponent and what he thought was his opponents best attribute, Stots went on to say, “He’s a Hawaiian, he trains with Max Halloway (current UFC 145 Champion), he’s a tough kid, well-rounded, he doesn’t talk a lot, but I know he will be coming to bang.” I then asked if he(Stots) studied his opponent. “Supa” said “ yes, I did. I haven’t studied all of his fights, but my coach and I have studied some of his recent fights and we’ve designed a game plan according to those fights, and my opponents tendencies.”

I had to ask Stots who he’s picking to win in UFC 220 Main event featuring undefeated Heavyweight Champion Stipe Miocic vs the Champion of the (punching machine) Hardest hitting human ever recorded on earth, Francis Nganno, or as I call him “ One Punch”. Stots laughing, which then seemed to turn slightly uncomfortable. Patiently thinking, Stots goes on to say “I’m gonna have to go with Nganno” sounding confident.

When I inquired further what his (Stots) views were on children watching, training, or competing in any martial arts, Stots slowly, went on to say “as long as the child understands the difference between fighting for competition, or against a mutual combatant, vs fighting on the streets, and it doesn’t lead to predatory behaviors, I’m all for it.”

Later in our conversation Stots mentioned he had just “recently signed a new 5 fight deal with Victory Fighting Championship”, but also added that he predicts 1 or 2 title defenses should solidify an undeniable attraction from the UFC ( which will let him out of VFC 5 fight contract). We then went into Stots diet, for which he informed me “since being with my wife, who is a vegetarian the only meat I really eat is chicken, and I’ve never taken any supplements of any kind.” He went on to add that basically his wife provides a pretty clean menu for him, with her experience as a vegetarian and “I feel a lot better since my diet has changed.” Stots recently just celebrated his 1 year wedding anniversary with his wife.

Look for Stots to put on a great performance once again Dec 16, and come on out and show your support for this high level talent. Stots wanted to thank his sponsors at Brother moving and Storage, B and B Roofing, Jake Kurtz Painting, Combat Corner, Downtown Omaha Massage, Diamond MMA, Grit Mouthguards.
