A pivotal showdown between the #2 ranked featherweight contender, Cat Zingano, and the #7 rated challenger, Pam Sorenson has been booked for Bellator 276 on March 12. – with the event slated to take place at the Family Arena in St. Louis, Missouri.

Zingano, who is set to make her third walk under the Scott Coker-led Bellator banner, had tirelessly campaigned for a featherweight title shot against reigning division champion, Cris Cyborg, however, the bout failed to ever materialize – despite initial interest from the promotion in booking the matchup.

For Sorenson, the former Invicta FC featherweight champion boasts a 9-4 professional record, dropping her first loss under the organization’s banner back in November with a unanimous decision defeat against former title challenger, Arlene Blencowe. News of Zingano’s bout against Sorenson was first reported by The Sun reporter, Niall McGrath

Minnesota native, Zingano has enjoyed a perfect start to her tenure under the Bellator banner – landing a pair of victories over the duo of Gabby Holloway, and then Olivia Parker – the most recent of which with an April opening round armbar.

The UFC alum improved to 12-4 as a professional with her win over Parker, adding to prior professional successes over Marion Reneau, Raquel Pennington, Takayo Hashi, Barb Honchak, former UFC bantamweight champion, Miesha Tate, and former duel-weight champion, Amanda Nunes.

As well as her exploits under the Shannon Knapp-led Invicta FC banner, Sorenson also managed to strike bantamweight gold during her time with King of the Cage.

Sorenson, akin to Zingano, also hails from Minnesota, and landed a debut Bellator win over Roberta Paim Samad in August of last year – adding to previous successes against Kaitlin Young, Jan Finney, Jessica-Rose Clark, and inaugural UFC flyweight champion, Nicco Montano.

Bellator 276 takes place on March 12. – and features a high-stakes featherweight main event between Hungarian promotional staple, Adam Borics, and the surging former Cage Warriors featherweight titleholder, Mads Burnell.
