Polish lightweight standout, Mateusz ‘Gamer’ Gamrot has booked his fourth UFC walk since his long-awaited move from European standout, KSW — drawing the #11 ranked lightweight contender, Diego Ferreira on December 18. in a UFC Vegas 45 clash. The event is slated to take place at the UFC Apex facility.

Gamrot, a former undisputed lightweight and featherweight champion under the KSW banner — finally landed in the UFC back in October of last year after years of speculation regarding a possible move. The Pole boasts a 19-1-1 professional record.

For the #11 ranked, Ferreira, the Amazonas native looks to snap a two-fight losing streak against Gamrot having dropped an eventual second round ground strikes knockout loss to the highly-touted, Gregor Gillespie at UFC Vegas 26 in May. MMA Junkie reporter, Farah Hannoun was first to report the matchup of Gamrot and Ferreira.

Earning Fight of the Night honors in his UFC bow, Gamrot dropped his first professional loss in the form of a close split decision defeat against fellow European standout, Guram Kutateladze on ‘Fight Island’.

In the midst of a two-fight winning run since then, Gamrot lodged his first UFC victory in the form of a second round knockout win over Scott Holtzmann at UFC on ABC 2 in April — which earned him a Performance of the Night bonus.

Returning in July at UFC Vegas 31, Gamrot once again earned a Performance of the Night bonus, as well as securing the quickest kimura stoppage in the history of the promotion with his first round submission success against Jeremy Stephens. From 19 professional wins, the American Top Team has lodged six knockout victories and a further five submission wins.

0-2 this year, Fortis MMA staple, Ferreira had enjoyed a splendid run of six successive victories prior to his February rematch split decision loss to the #3 ranked, Beneil Dariush — which included a second round rear-naked choke win over former UFC and WEC lightweight champion, Anthony Pettis.

The prominent grappling talent has also secured notable UFC victories against the likes of Mairbek Taisumov, Rustam Khabilov, Jared Gordon, Ramsey Nijem, and Olivier Aubin-Mercier.

UFC Vegas 45 takes place on December 18. from the UFC Apex facility in Las Vegas, Nevada — and will as the promotion’s final event of this year. A heavyweight headliner between the most prolific heavyweight knockout artist, Derrick Lewis, and the #7 rated, Chris Daukaus has also been penned for the event.
