Report – Sodiq Yusuff returns, meets Alex Caceres at UFC Vegas 50 on March 12.

Lagos-born featherweight contender, ‘Super’ Sodiq Yusuff is slated to make his first Octagon appearance since April – booking a return at UFC Vegas 50 on March 12. in an intriguing showdown against the #15 ranked contender, Alex ‘Bruce Leeroy’ Caceres. The event is set to take place at the UFC Apex facility in Las Vegas, Nevada.

11-2 as a professional, Yusuff suffered his first Octagon defeat back in April at UFC on ABC 2 – dropping a unanimous decision loss to Ipswitch standout, Arnold Allen. 

For Caceres, the veteran featherweight staple is in the midst of a stunning five-fight undefeated run – most recently stopping Seung Woo Choi with a second round rear-naked choke in October at UFC Vegas 41. The victory earned Caceres a Performance of the Night bonus. Caceres confirmed his willingness to meet with Yusuff during a recent interview with The Schmo – before a report from MMA Junkie reporters, Nolan King, John Morgan, and Farah Hannoun

A product of Dana White’s Contender Series back in 2018, Yusuff has managed to amass a 4-1 promotional résumé from five outings under the promotion’s banner.

Yusuff debuted with a first round knockout win over Suman Mokhtarian, before a pair of decision wins over both Sheymon Moraes, and Andre Fili – in between another knockout stoppage against Gabriel Benitez. From 11 wins, Yusuff has landed six knockout stoppages. 

19-12(1) as a professional, Caceres, a native of Miami, added the aforenoted Choi to a winning run which includes other victories against Kevin Croom, Austin Springer, Chase Hooper, and Steven Peterson. 

Making his UFC debut back in March 2011, Caceres holds other notable Octagon triumphs over the likes of Damacio Page, Cole Miller, Rolando Dy, Martin Bravo, and holds a submission victory over current Bellator bantamweight champion, Sergio Pettis. 

UFC Vegas 50 takes place on March 12. from the UFC Apex facility in Las Vegas, Nevada – with a high-stakes light heavyweight bout between one-time title chaser, Thiago Santos, and the #6 ranked, Magomed Ankalaev.
