Report – Stipe Miocic vs. Francis Ngannou II slated for UFC 260 on March 27th.

Finally, a heavyweight championship rematch between Stipe Miocic and Francis ‘The Predator’ Ngannou has been nailed down. UFC 260 on March 27th. — the one-time opponents are slated to throw down in a re-run from their initial meeting at UFC 220 in January 2018. As of writing a location or venue for the March 27th. showcase as yet to be determined by the promotion. 

Hoping to score the second successful title defence of his second championship reign, Ohio favourite, Miocic rounded off his trilogy with former two-weight world champion, Daniel ‘DC’ Cormier in August at UFC 252, sealing the rubber-match triumph with a unanimous decision win. 

Embarking on a four-fight rise, Batie native Ngannou has firmly stamped his status at the number-one contender to Miocic’s title again, most recently stopping Jairzinho ‘Bigi Boy’ Rozenstruik via a twenty-second knockout at UFC 249 in May. UFC president, Dana White confirmed the pairing following the main event of UFC Fight Island 7, after an initial report from Twitter user, @philthemmadude.

Regarded as arguably the greatest heavyweight in mixed martial arts history, Euclid veteran, Miocic has scored an incredible 14-3 promotional record since his transition to the Octagon back in October of 2011. 

Handing the above mentioned, Cormier two championship match defeats, Miocic has also bested the likes of Junior dos Santos, Alistair Overeem, Fabricio Werdum, Andrei Arlovski, Mark Hunt, Fabio Maldonado, Gabriel Gonzaga, Roy Nelson, as well as the above mentioned, Ngannou.

Recovering in spectacular fashion following his decision handling from Miocic as well as a forgettable unanimous decision defeat to Derrick Lewis, Ngannou has won four on the trot, all within the minute and a half of the first round. 

Besting Curtis ‘Razor’ Blaydes in a main event rematch, Ngannou then stopped former champions, Cain Velasquez, and common-foe, dos Santos, prior to his Jacksonville stoppage of Suriname knockout-artist, Rozenstruik.

UFC 260 takes place on March 27th. — with the heavyweight title matchup of Miocic and Ngannou slated to serve above a featherweight title matchup of Alexander ‘The Great’ Volkanovski, and number-one contender, Brian ‘T-City’ Ortega.
