World Series of Fighting Welterweight Ryan Ford has been handed down a 6 months suspension by The Edmonton Combative Sports Commission for failing to disclose an injury in pre-fight medicals, which included a fractured ulna bone. The 32 year old Ford faced Jake Sheilds at WSOF 14 last month in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada where he ended up suffering a 1st round submission loss via rear naked choke. Two weeks following the fight Ford released a video that he in fact went into the fight with the injury, you can view the video below.

Ryan Ford spoke to mmajunkie.com earlier this week and released this statement:

“What’s fair or not fair doesn’t really matter. It is what it is. It’s funny cause guys go into fights always injured. They have said it after fights in interviews broken hands, ribs, nose torn, knees. Do they get suspended?

Maybe not a broken arm lol but that’s the difference that separates me from others. Not going to appeal. Six months is six months. I have time to heal and recover and fight in the New Year.”

Prior to the incident Ryan Ford was on an impressive 6 fight win streak finishing 5 out of 6 of his last opponents, with notable wins over Michael Hill, Brendan Tierney and Kyle Baker.
