Clarksville, Tennessee: Johnathan Ivey’s Cage Fighting Championships 10 will take place on Saturday, June 26, 2021, at Appleton Harley-Davidson in Clarksville, Tennessee.
Seth Britton is making his debut at CFC 10 on June 26th in Clarksville Tennessee. He’s taking on CFC veteran Christan Lozano in a 3 round flyweight fight that is sure to be fast paced. He spent time talking with CEO of FightBook MMA Roberto Villa about his fight. Check out the conversation below.
FBMMA: Seth thank you for taking the time to talk with us here at FightBook MMA. We are positive you are busy right now in your preparation for your big fight coming up at CFC 10. How is training going for you?
Britton: Yes I do work six days a week but I NEVER miss the gym, not only am I preparing for this fight but I am also preparing for the IBJJF Memphis Open and Atlanta Open and of course I train under team Shawn Hammonds at Guardian MMA and no one trains as hard as us and I’ve had the help of Nathan Lindsey and Steven Coble help me with my striking along with Shawn Hammonds himself.
FBMMA: The CFC is the fastest growing MMA promotion in Tennessee right now and you’re getting to make your MMA debut with them. CFC owner Johnathan Ivey says you come recommended to him by Brazilian jiu-jitsu black belt Shawn Hammonds who Ivey has a ton of respect for. What kind of competitions have you competed in, in the past before you made the decision to debut in MMA?
Britton: I’ve wrestled all throughout Highschool freestyle and Greco Roman as well, when I moved to North Carolina back in 2018 I started doing Brazilian jiu jitsu with one of Shawns students named Steven Coble he actually got me started in my career for jiu jitsu and MMA. He and I have been competing in every jiu jitsu possible since then he brought me out to Tennessee and introduced me to the man himself Shawn Hammonds and my jiu jitsu game has skyrocketed since I’ve been with him and guardian MMA.
FBMMA: June 26th you step in the cage for the first time in front of a huge audience to take on CFC veteran Christan Lozano. What do you know about Lozano and how do you see the fight going?
Britton: Honestly I’m VERY EXCITED and VERY ANXIOUS TO GET in there. I’ve been wanting to get into this game since I was in middle school, now I’ve noticed a couple of keyboard warriors on Facebook talking crap about me and it does nothing but make me more and more anxious. With that being said, on June 26th a lot of mouths are going to get shut and a lot of eyes are going to open, now Chris I’ve heard he was a wrestler but regardless of his wrestling or experience I’m very confident in my game plan and my will to win and I KNOW HOW MUCH I WANT THIS. I definitely do see a scramble with the guy but there is no jiu jitsu program that can compete with us so I think this is going to be fun and very intense.
FBMMA: The CFC flyweight division is kind of wide open right now with the title being vacant. There are several flyweights on the card at CFC 10. Do you have big plans for yourself in the CFC flyweight division?
Britton: I WANT THAT BELT AND I AM TAKING THAT BELT. PERIOD.
FBMMA: Seth is there anyone you would like to thank or give a shoutout to before we close out this interview? Best of luck to you June 26th at CFC 10 by the way!
Britton: I would like to thank my teammates at guardian MMA, Nathan Lindsey, Shawn Hammonds, Steven Coble for getting prepared for this war. I would also like to thank Johnathan Ivey for getting me started in my career and I would also like to thank Christan Lozano for welcoming me to the game it’ll be a war!
