Undefeated strawweight wrestling ace, Tatiana Suarez has noted her goal to share the Octagon with former UFC champion, Joanna Jedrzejczyk before the latter retires from professional mixed martial arts.
Targeting a return to the Octagon herself in the fall of this year, Suarez, who boasts an undefeated 8-0 professional record to go along with The Ultimate Fighter 23 season crown, has been sidelined for a period of three years amid a slew of back, knee, and neck injuries.
Touted as one of the brightest young contenders in the sport today, Suarez, a native of Covina, California holds a ground strikes stoppage win over current strawweight champion, Carla Esparza – prior to her unanimous decision win over Nina Nunes in her most recent Octagon walk at UFC 238.
Most recently, Suarez was booked to fight against the now-retired, Roxanne Modafferi at UFC 266 back in September of last year, however, the bout failed to come to fruition after Suarez suffered another injury setback.

As for the aforenoted former strawweight champion, Jedrzeczyk, the Pole is set to feature for the first time in over two years this weekend at UFC 275 – drawing fellow former gold holder, Zhang Weili in a rematch of their 2020 Fight of the Year.
Discussing her future aspirations in the division, Suarez noted her interest in landing a fight against Jedrzejczyk before the latter ends her professional career.
“Before she retires, I want to fight Joanna (Jedrzejczyk),” Tatiana Suarez said on The Schmozone Podcast. “I feel like that would be a good fight just because she has pretty good takedown defense and stuff, and obviously she’s a former champion. I think it’ll be a good fight, it’ll be fun, and I think they had mentioned that after my Nina Ansaroff (Nunes) fight. They’re like, ‘Oh, you know what would be a good fight is her vs. Joanna.”
“I think she’ll retire first, so I want to fight her first,” Tatiana Suarez explained. “Becuase you know how she was gone for a while and then she came back. I don’t know. I just feel like if someone beats her, she’ll probably be like, ‘Ah.’ So, I feel like I gotta get in there before she decides, ‘Ah, I don’t want to fight no more.’” (Transcribed by MMA Junkie)
