LOS ANGELES – Aug. 8, 2015 – Bellator MMA light heavyweight contender and UFC Hall of Famer Tito Ortiz joined AXS TV’s INSIDE MMA in studio last night with series host Bas Rutten and guest host Ron Kruck, who filled in for regular host Kenny Rice. During his in-depth interview, Ortiz, who is the former manager and current wrestling coach of Invicta FC Women’s Featherweight Champion Cris “Cyborg” Justino, revealed the UFC offered her a fight against UFC Women’s Bantamweight Champion Ronda Rousey at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas.
“I’ve heard from Cris [Justino] actually that the fight that’s supposed to be happening at the Cowboy’s arena… they offered the fight to Cris. I know her management said yes and I’ve told her, ‘Let’s do it.’ So I guess the ball’s all in Ronda [Rousey]’s corner and Ronda wants to do it. Dana said if Cris came down to 135 they’ll make the fight happen, so let’s see if Ronda accepts the fight.”
The full interview is available below, in which Ortiz also discussed his career resurgence with Bellator, fighting for the Bellator light heavyweight title Sep. 19 and if he would like to fight Fedor Emelianenko if he were to sign with Bellator:
Rice sat down with former UFC Heavyweight Champion and NEW JAPAN PRO WRESTLING (NJPW) commentator Josh Barnett for an intimate conversation about his return to fight for the UFC; his upcoming opponent Roy Nelson and other UFC heavyweights Andre Arlovski and Frank Mir; the Reebok Fight Kits; and his work on AXS TV’s NJPW series.
