Emilio Quissua Wins Inaugural Light Heavyweight Title

Abu Dhabi: The best of African MMA was on show Friday evening, September 16, at ‘UAE Warriors 32: Africa’ live from the Etihad Arena on Yas Island in Abu Dhabi, UAE.
Angola’s Emilio Quissua (4-0) made history in the main event as he captured the inaugural UAE Warriors Africa light heavyweight title. Based in Germany and trained by Peter Sobotta, Quissua scored an emphatic first-round TKO win over Comoros’ Kevin Oumar (8-4), who entered on a six-fight undefeated run.
Morocco’s Badreddine Diani (5-2) handed the Shido Esperanca (6-1) the first defeat of his pro career in the co-main event after the Angolan didn’t answer the bell for the final round.
Elsewhere on the card, fan favourite Jaures ‘The Crazy Cameroonian’ Dea (9-5) registered the biggest win of his career with a decision win over Sylvester Chipfumbu (8-5), Cameroon’s Maxwell Djantou Nana (2-1) KO’d the highly touted Emmanuel Gnaze (4-2) with a huge headkick, and two of South Africa’s best fighters Martin van Staden (21-12) and Luthando Biko (11-3) won their respective UAE Warriors debuts.
UAE Warriors 33 takes place Saturday night, September 17, live on UFC FIGHT PASS from the Etihad Arena and will feature the biggest rematch in UAE Warriors history as featherweight champion Jesse Arnett (20-8) faces rival Ali AlQaisi (12-6).
