Sunday September 6, 2015– Roy Nelson (21-11) vs Josh Barnett (33-7) headlines the fight night in Saitama, Japan. These two heavyweight contenders are both on a mission for a big finish to try to climb their way back up the ladder in the Heavyweight division.
Big Country Roy Nelson the #12 ranked heavyweight contender in the world is coming off 4 losses out of his last 5 fights he is in desperate need of a Victory. His last bout against Alistair Overeem was a hell of fight, but Overeem who in some eyes including my own doesn’t always bring his A game on fight night, but in this fight he did. Overeem gave Nelson everything he had and pulled out the victory. Nelson needs to come out fast and land those hard right hands of his that everyone in the division fears and seal the victory and help him climb back into title contention.
Josh Barnett The Baby Faced Assassin, the #8 ranked heavyweight contender in the world is coming off a KO lost to Travis Browne back in 2013. Now back and ready to go to battle with Nelson in 2015 Barnett needs to come out extra sharp and make sure to avoid all of what Big Country throws at him. The best scouting report on nelson is to try and get him to the ground because everyone knows that Nelson has a chin made of iron. With a steady flow of clean shots and some ground work, Barnett should find himself in a position to win the fight.
On Saturday September 26, 2015 inside the Saitama Arena in Japan both of these heavyweights will put it all on the line to fight for the victory and climb up the ladder for a chance at another title shot. A lost for either one of these men could see themselves on the outside of the top 15. Which would make it even harder for the looser to get himself a top ranked opponent in the future.
