UFC Fight Night London Fight Predictions

LONDON (Fri, March 16, 2018)– UFC Fight Night 127 will take place on Saturday March 17, 2018 at The O2 in London. The entire card streams live on UFC Fight Pass.

(#15) Leon Edwards vs Peter Sobatta

This fight kicks off the main card on the UFC Fight Pass main card. Edwards is 6-2 in the UFC while on a four fight winning streak. Looking at his competition in the UFC, he hasn’t fought the toughest competition but he does hold a submission win over Albert Tumenov who has some quality wins in the UFC. Sobatta, 4-4 in the UFC, has a similar resume in regards to quality opponents. There’s nothing that will blow you away but he holds a KO win over Ben Saunders in his last fight.

Pick: Edwards via Unanimous Decision

Tom Duquesnoy vs Terrion Ware

There’s really not a lot to be said about this fight. Both guys are fairly new to the UFC. Duquesnoy is 1-1 in the UFC while Ware is 0-2 with the organization. I think this is a fight for both men defending their position in the UFC. Duquesnoy is an accomplished grappler while Ware’s stand up appears to be superior.

Pick: Duquesnoy via 3rd Round Submission

(#4) Jimi Manuwa vs (#11) Jan Blachowicz

Finally, a fight on the card that I’m intrigued by! Manuwa is 6-3 in the UFC. His only losses come from former title challengers; Alexander Gustafsson, Anthony Johnson, Volkan Oezdemir. Jimi undoubtedly has some of the most impressive power in his hands in the Light Heavyweight division. Blachowicz is 4-4 in the UFC with a loss to Manuwa back in 2015 but is well-rounded everywhere the fight may go.

Pick: Manuwa via KO/TKO (Round 2)

(#3) Fabricio Werdum vs. (#8) Alexander Volkov

Werdum is without a doubt one of the best Heavyweights to ever walk the planet. He has finishes over Cain Velasquez and Fedor Emelianenko. Werdum has been active to say the least. Since losing his title in May of 2016 at UFC 198 to current Champion Stipe Miocic, he has won 3 of his last 4 bouts with his only loss to Alistair Overeem. Volkov is a relative newcomer to the UFC but has some very impressive wins over Stefan Struve, Roy Nelson, and Timothy Johnson.

Closing thoughts: Look, I am paying customer of UFC Fight Pass. The unfortunate truth is that the fights the UFC is putting on for these Fight Pass Exclusive cards is not meeting the mark. For paying customers and the UFC’s sake, I hope they step up the star power on these cards a bit.
