UFC fighter Charlie Ontiveros has been suspended by the Nevada Athletic Commission.
The Nevada Athletic Commission held their monthly conference call which they announced that Ontiveros will be given a six-month suspension and fined $2,245.36 ($1,800 + $445.36 in legal fees) for a failed drug test. Ontiveros failed a urine drug screen and showed the presence of DHCMT M3 metabolites. He will have to continue random drug-testing and present results under 100 picograms in order to be reinstated on April 30th.
As we remember, Ontiveros took his last fight against Kevin Holland on less than one week’s notice at UFC on ESPN+ 39. He lost via first-round TKO when he suffered a neck injury.
Ontiveros was not the only fighter to be handed a suspension. Taylor Moore was also flagged for the same metabolites. He was fined $895.36 ($750.00 + $145.36 in legal fees) and suspended nine months.
