What Is Fight Island?

For those that have been following UFC for a while, there have been several rumours surrounding the continuation of the sport following the devastating blow that the ongoing pandemic has bought to the sport. However, the wait is now over with the brand- new announcement from the president of the UFC Dana White. This brand-new announcement unveiled “Fight Island” and the fights that will be taking place there. Fight island is located in Yas Island in Aby Dhabi and is a state-of-the-art complex. This allows for fighting, training and accommodation for the fighters in a safe environment. As a result, this is allowing international competition to take place in this current climate whilst protecting the fighters and other staff from the likelihood of contracting the Coronavirus.

When speaking about the upcoming event, White had this to say:

Purchase your tickets for all your MMA and Boxing Events by going here.

“Abu Dhabi has been an amazing location to hold fights over the past 10 years and it is the perfect place for these events. The infrastructure we are building will be such a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for the fighters that’s never been done before – from the arena, the private training facility, and the Octagon on the island – it’s going to be an experience that none of us will ever forget.”
