UFC Vegas 94: Lemos vs. Jandiroba – A Strawweight Showdown

LAS VEGAS – UFC returns to the APEX with a deciding strawweight bout for the title between No. 3 contender Amanda Lemos and No. 5 contender Virna Jandiroba. The show also sees fan-favorite Duho Choi return to the Octagon to face Bill Algeo in an exciting featherweight bout.

UFC on ESPN: Lemos vs. JandirobaĀ (also known asĀ UFC on ESPN 60Ā andĀ UFC Vegas 94) occurs on Saturday, July 20, 2024, in Las Vegas. The prelims will air on ESPN+ (English and Spanish), ESPN Deportes, and ESPN2 at 5 p.m. ET / 2 p.m. PT, followed by the main card on ESPN+, ESPN Deportes and ESPN at 8 p.m. ET / 5 p.m. PT.ā€ÆĀ 

Ranked #12 on the pound-for-pound rankings, Lemos (14-3-1, Para, Brazil) will be looking to keep the momentum going after her Fight of the Night win over Mackenzie Dern earlier this year. Lemosā€™ most recent title fights included wins over Marina Rodrigues and Michelle Waterson-Gomez to earn a shot at UFC gold. She will now be looking to beat Jandiroba to secure a second shot at the championship.

Jandiroba (20-3, fighting out of Feira de Santano, Bahia, Brazil) will be looking to make a statement in her first UFC main event. She is currently riding the longest winning streak of her UFC career, which includes wins over Lupe Godinez, Marina Rodrigues and Angela Hill. Jandiroba now wants to prove she can compete for the title against the best in the world.

Fan-favorite Choi (14-4-1, fighting out of Busan, South Korea) wants to remind the division of the exciting fighting style that earned her a UFC Hall of Fame induction in 2022 with her unforgettable bout against Cub Swanson. A formidable competitor, she has earned post-fight bonuses in five of her last six bouts, including impressive knockout wins over Sam Sicilia and Thiago Tavares. Choi now wants to deliver another impressive vintage performance.

Algeo (18-8, out of King of Prussia, Pennsylvania) is looking for the biggest win of his UFC career. An exciting fighter in his own right, Algeo has thrilled fans with wins over Alexander Hernandez, TJ Brown and Herbert Burns. He’ll now be looking to secure his spot in the rankings with a stunning victory over Choi.

Brad Tavares (20-10, fighting out of Las Vegas, NV) will face Junyoung Park (Seoul, Korea) in a middleweight bout. Featherweights Steve Garcia (15-5, fighting out of Albuquerque, NM) and Seungwoo Choi (11-6, fighting out of Seoul, Korea) will face off in an exciting bout.

The Ultimate Fighter Season 31 winner Kurt Hollobaugh (21-8, 1 NC, fighting out of Amite, LA) will face Keinan Kruszewski (15-2, 1 NC, fighting out of Sao Paulo, Brazil) in a lightweight bout. 14-ranked flyweight Cody Darden (16-5-1, fighting out of Loganville, GA) will look to defend his status in the rankings against Bruno Silva (13-5-2, 1 NC, fighting out of Sao Paulo, Brazil).

Heavyweights Muhammad Usman (11-3, Mansfield, Texas) and Thomas Petersen (8-2, Webster, Minnesota) are hoping for a spectacular finale. JeongYeong Lee (11-1, Daegu, South Korea) and Hyder Amil (9-0, San Rafael, California) will compete at featherweight
