Unified MMA 51 is set for June 23 live on UFC Fight Pass
EDMONTON – Unified 51 will take place on June 23, 2023, at Niagara Falls Convention Centre in Niagara Falls, ON, LIVE on UFC Fight Pass.
In the main event, Teshay “My House” Gouthro and UFC vet Eric “Showtime” Shelton will face each other for the Interim Unified MMA Canadian Bantamweight Championship. Gouthro, 28-year-old, a product of the Niagara Top Team is stepping into the cage winning his last fight against Morgan Rhynes by unanimous decision at Unified MMA 48. He’ll be looking for his fourth knockout come June 23rd. UFC vet Shelton (16-8) is coming into the fight winning four of his last five fights. The 32-year-old American Top Team fighter has five wins by submission and three by KO. Whoever wins this fight will take on Unified MMA Canadian Bantamweight Champion Noah “The Chosen Defender” Ali (11-5-1) to unify the titles later this year.
In the co-main event, top Canadian welterweight Ergys Sigeta (5-0) takes on American Bradley Desir (10-7). Sigeta, fighting out of Toronto, Ontario, will be stepping into the cage winning his last fight against Kaecy Raddon via submission arm-triangle choke at Unified MMA 48. Desir, fighting out of New York, lost his last bout against LaRue Burley by TKO at XFC 44: Soukhamthath vs. Quinonez.
