Xtreme Fight Night (XFN) 379: Nelson vs Montelongo set for the Lightweight Title

TULSA, OK – Xtreme Fight Night (XFN) celebrates its forty-five-year history of combat sports entertainment on Friday, April 22, 2022. This event will take place at the Cove at River Spirit Casino Resort in Tulsa.

Former UFC heavyweight champion Frank Mir will be cage-side to call the action and meet fight fans as he begins his fifth year as the voice of XFN. Stay tuned to FightBookMMA.com as we will have your complete recap and official results.

Fight fans will see a stacked card featuring a four-man kickboxing tournament with some of the heaviest hitters in the sport. The heavyweight tournament includes African striker Rodrigue “King Congo” Ibanda, Glory kickboxing veteran Demoreo Dennis, former XFN champion Jefe Hodges, and undefeated knockout artist Phillip Latu. To win this contenders tournament a fighter will need to win two fights in one night.

In a world championship headliner South African kickboxing sensation Lorawnt “Smash” Nelson defends his lightweight title against undefeated Muay Thai stylist Jose “Scarface” Montelongo.

Nelson fights out of Aspen, Colorado, and is a vet in the combat sports world. He started his pro career back in 2011 and has fought the whos who in MMA. He fought under the Bellator MMA banner, Sparta Combat League, Hard Knocks Fighting, Glory Kickboxing, Lion Fight, Xtreme Fight Night (XFN) just to name a few. His striking is phenomenal and finisher on his feet.

Montelongo, fighting out of Arlington, Texas, is a Muay Thai fighter and is undefeated winning his last 3 fights with his recent win against Lance Dixon at Lion Fight 70. He stopped his last two opponents and wants to keep the momentum going and finish this fight in spectacular fashion and take the lightweight title back home.
