Additional fights announced for RIZIN.18

RIZIN.17 delivered both action and attendance at the Saitama Super Arena. Although the event lacked star names such as Kyoji Horiguchi, Tenshin Nasukawa and Ayaka Hamasaki, the promotion announced their attendance at 16,930. With RIZIN.18 about to happen in 19 days, RIZIN announced an addition to conclude the event with 13 fights, including the return of RIZIN and Bellator Bantamweight Champion, Kyoji Horiguchi.

Doors open at 1:00PM with Opening Ceremony at 2:00PM on Sunday August 18th at the Dolphins Arena. International tickets can be purchased at Live event streaming on FightBook MMA on the FITE TV Network.

Tabatha Wakins (3-2) will be taking on Japan’s Ai Shimizu (4-1). Shimizu has been competing professionally for just about a year and currently has 5 fights under her belt. The Krazy Bee product has a solid wrestling back ground, being trained by Miyuu Yamamoto, and utilizes her wrestling well along with vicious ground and pound. Shimizu has fought under the RIZIN banner once last New Year’s Eve, and looks to continue to fight for the Japanese promotion. Tabatha Watkins has been fighting at the professional stage since 2017, and got her share of recognition when she faced Lindsey VanZandt under the Bellator banner. “Batgirl” looks to snap her 2 fight losing streak by beating the Japanese wrestler in her home town.

RIZIN.18 has a solid line up with 10 MMA fights and 3 kickboxing fights.
