AEW: Full Gear Fights Preview

Below is the brief preview of AEW Full Gear Fights scheduled to take place this Saturday:

MJF(c) vs Jay White – AEW World Championship

Jay White confronted MJF on September 27 at AEW Dynamite and claimed he would dethrone him as AEW World Champion. Later, White was attacked by a group of masked men backstage. One of the men was wearing MJF’s devil mask.

On October 4, MJF claimed to be innocent but was attacked by Jay White and his Bullet Club Gold allies Juice Robinson, Austin Gunn & Colten Gunn. White took away the title belt and challenged MJF for it, which MJF accepted immediately.

In the following weeks, MJF tried to get the belt back, but Bullet Club Gold managed to block him every time. White issued a challenge for him for an 8-man tag team match, to which MJF agreed on the Dynamite November 1 episode but put the stipulation that White had to return the title belt if he won. The Acclaimed and Billy Gunn teamed up with MJF for this match, but Jay White pinned MJF to get the win.

Adam Page vs Swerve Strickland

Strickland has become one of the most compelling pro wrestling characters. Strickland’s work has made Hangman relevant again. Their rivalry has gotten personal, arguably more than any other rivalry in AEW history.

The stipulation for this match came about when Swerve Strickland interrupted Adam Page’s promo on the September 6 Dynamite episode, and Hangman challenged Swerve to a Texas Death match.

Hangman defeated Brian Cage on Dynamite on September 13. He and The Young Bucks defeated Cage and Gates of Agony to win the ROH 6-Man Tag Team Championship. Swerve beat Hangman at WrestleDream PPV.

Cage and Gates of Agony won the ROH 6-Man title back after Swerve distracted Hangman and took him backstage during the match. AEW then announced a rematch between Hangman and Swerve at Full Gear.

Christian Cage, Nick Wayne & Luchasaurus vs Sting, Darby Allin & Adam Copeland

Christian’s pursuit and subsequent reign of the TNT Championship is one of the best storylines in all of pro wrestling, and him adding longtime best friend and WWE HOF Adam Copeland to the mix has only made it the most compelling drama on television.

This match also marks Copeland’s first PPV bout for the company. It also marks one of the last PPV matches for Sting, who’s set to retire in early 2024.

Darby Allin won Rampage Battle Royal and became the no. 1 contender for the TNT Championship. The feud led Christian Page teaming with Swerve Strickland to face Darby and Sting at All In. Luchasaurus beat Darby, Christian then beat Darby and Luchasaurus in a triple threat match and won the TNT title on September 27 Dynamite.

Sting announced his retirement from pro wrestling and revealed the AEW match at Revolution 2024 PPV to be his last. On October 24, Dynamite, Christian challenged him to a trios match at Full Gear.

Sting and Darby tried to talk Copeland into joining him in the fight, but he refused to fight his best friend. But after dramatic events, Copeland changed his mind and agreed to fight at Full Gear.

Kris Statlander(c) vs Julia Hart vs Skye Blue – AEW TBS Women’s Championship

This three-way match is the perfect opportunity for AEW to take the title off the champion Kris Statlander and put it on Julia Hart, who’s getting more fame daily. She is an entertaining character and is undoubtedly someone AEW can put a title on.

Like the matches mentioned above, this TBS title match results from a promo from the November 11th episode of Collision. Julia Hart failed to defeat Kris Statlander at WrestleDream PPV for the TBS Women’s title, her first loss in AEW this year.

She won a qualifier match on Collision November 11 episode against Willow Nightingale, where Skye Blue also defeated her opponent in another qualifier and set up for this highly-anticipated fixture.

The Young Bucks(Matt Jackson & Nick Jackson) vs The Golden Jets(Kenny Omega & Chris Jericho)

The Young Bucks won a title shot at the AEW Tag Team Championship by winning a fatal 4-way tag team match. Don Callis Family was targeting Chris Jericho and Kenny Omega. They joined forces and then faced them in tag team matches multiple times.

The Young Bucks were unhappy with their friend Kenny and Jericho teaming up. They argued with Jericho in a backstage segment on Dynamite November 8 episode and challenged them to a tag team match, which Jericho accepted with the stipulation
