Al-Selwady looks to make history against Erik Carlsson at Brave 13

Jordan’s Abdul-Kareem Al-Selwady is one of Brave’s most victorious fighters. With four promotional wins to his name, he will look to join countryman Jarrah Al-Selawe in the “Five Wins club” against Sweden’s Erik Carlsson at Brave 13: Euro Evolution, set for June 9th, in Belfast, Northern Ireland.

Fighting out of Fortis MMA, in Texas, “The Pride of Palestine” has been on a tear since joining Brave, with victories over tough competition in Rami Aziz, Michael Deiga-Scheck, Erick “Índio Brabo” and, finally, a near-perfect performance against Charlie Leary at Brave 10, in Jordan. Al-Selwady had the honor of winning the first-ever Brave Combat Federation main event bout, back at Brave 1, in September 2016, and faces Carlsson in hopes of guaranteeing a title shot next.

Carlsson, meanwhile, is looking to even out his Brave record. He started off with a loss against Al-Selawe at Welterweight, and immediately dropped down to Lightweight, where he beat Gadzhimusa Gaziev but lost his last bout, against Egypt’s Ahmed Amir.

Suleiman x Hanekom added

Al-Selwady’s return to the cage hasn’t been the only bout added to Brave 13. A Middleweight fight between South Africa’s Chad Hanekom and Syria’s Tarek Suleiman was also confirmed by Brave officials for Brave 13’s undercard.

Both fighters lost their promotional debuts, as “Superman” Hanekom tasted his first professional defeat against Ikram Aliskerov, while Suleiman was bested by SBG Ireland’s Will Fleury. Both fights happened at Brave 10: The Kingdom Rises, back in March.

Brave 13: Euro Evolution will be held at The SSE Arena, in Belfast. The main event will be a rematch for the Bantamweight title as current champion Stephen Loman tries to go 2-0 against challenger Frans Mlambo. The co-main event is set for a Catchweight of 73 kg between former UFC fighter Norman Parke and Myles Price.

Northern Ireland will become the ninth country to host a Brave Combat Federation, after Bahrain, Brazil, United Arab Emirates, India, Kazakhstan, Mexico, Jordan, and Indonesia.

Bantamweight: Stephen Loman (c) x Frans Mlambo – For the title
Catchweight (73 kg): Norman Parke x Myles Price
Lightweight: Abdul-Kareem Al-Selwady x Erik Carlsson
Middleweight: Chad Hanekom x Tarek Suleiman
