Russian spitfire Alexander “AK-47” Keshtov edged out compatriot Bair Shtepin via razor-thin unanimous decision in their bantamweight showdown on the main card of BRAVE CF 50 in Bahrain on Thursday, April 1.
The action was electric all throughout the bout, with both men having their moments. However, it was Keshtov who showed a more capable set of both striking and grappling skills throughout the three-round contest, clipping his fellow Russian with precise strikes while diving for takedowns.
Shtepin tried to change the tide in the third and final frame, outworking Keshtov who tried to counteract his offense over the last five minutes of the match. However, his last-ditch effort never reflected on the scorecards as his opponent got the nod of the three judges with three identical 29-29 scores across the board.
With the win, Keshtov upgraded his professional record to 10-1. On the other hand, Shtepin fell to a 9-4 standing.
