Dominance MMA leader and prominent mixed martial arts manager, Ali Abdelaziz, has called for his client, former interim UFC  lightweight champion, Justin Gaethje to land a fight with former two-weight champion, Conor McGregor next, claiming he would love to see the Dubliner wheelchair-bound after a potential fight.

Gaethje, a former interim UFC lightweight champion, currently occupies the #3 rank in the official lightweight pile, most recently making an Octagon walk at UFC 274 in May.

Headlining the Phoenix event in a homecoming, Gaethje suffered a one-sided first round rear-naked choke loss to then-undisputed lightweight champion, Charles Oliveira.

As for McGregor, the 34-year-old has been sidelined since fracturing his left tibia and fibula in a first round doctor’s stoppage TKO loss to common-foe, Dustin Poirier back in July of last year.

The Crumlin striker has spent the time since, recovering from that debilitating injury, and is expected to make his Octagon return next year – potentially in the summer to boot.

And according to Abdelaziz, his client, Gaethje should welcome UFC star, McGregor back to active competition.

“I would like to see Justin Gaethje destroy Conor McGregor and put him in a wheelchair,” Ali Abdelaziz told The Schmo during a recent interview. “I would love to see that. …It doesn’t matter – any weight. He can take all the steroids he wants. He can take all the juice – EPO, everything. Whatever he wants to take, he can take. I would like to see this fight, but we know he doesn’t like tough fights anymore. He wants easy fights. He’s probably not going to fight Justin Gaethje.” (Transcribed by MMA Junkie

McGregor and Gaethje were reportedly on a collision course for the summer of 2020 following the pair’s respective knockout wins over Donald Cerrone, however, the COVID-19 pandemic prevented the promotion from hosting events to a live gate, with McGregor reserved for events where the organization could welcome fans.
