AROUND THE UFC THESE DAYS

Connor McGregor did not have the return he wanted or tat most desired, especially the UFC, in terms of a financial standpoint, but it was a big hit and set up what the rest of the year holds in stall for fans, especially those looking to take advantage of that bet365 bonus for 2021. In between Khabib retiring un beaten, Mcgregor’s losing return to Dustin poirier, and kamaru Usman defending his title in emphatic style, there has been a lot of under-the hood improvements for the promotuon, one such gloosy new updates being the arrival and domination of Khamzat Chimaev amongst a slew of budding new talent. The year promises to be charged with all sorts of positive, high octane competition energy, starting with UFC 259.

UFC 259

Everything is on the line at UFC 259, from records to titles. On the 6th of March it will be a champ champ champ champ affair, as titles and egos all out on the line, headlined by that tasty Blachowicz v. Adesanya for the Light heavyweight title. Amanda Nunes had to pull out of UFC 256 with injury, but this time is set to put her Featherweight title on the line against Megan Anderson. Nunes is also the women’s Bantamweight champion, but do not expect her to want to part with any of her titles anytime soon.

In the men’s category, Petr Yan will be defending his Bantamweight title against Aljamain Sterling, after teh fight was pulled from UFC 256 due to travel and visa issues for Yan. The big one, however, apart from the Nunes fight will be the Light Heavyweight showdown between champion blachowicz and Israel Adesanya. Adesanya has had to make up weight and moveup a class to challenge Blachowicz, while the Prince of Cieszyn, will be looking to do what no other man has done in the UFC, beat Adesanya. The odds stack in Balchowicz favor who is more familiar and comfortable in his body at light heavyweight, but Adesanya is not somebody to be counted ut. The Last Stylebender will look no further for inspiration than his fellow countryman and champ Kamaru Usman who recently defended his welterweight title against Gilert Burns. Adesanya is looking to join an elite and handful of men who have become double champion for different divisions, after McGregor, Nunes, Comier, and Cejudo. If Adesanya can get win number 21 in his career, it will be a legacy win and cement his place as an all-time great.

Jorge Masvidal

After going back and forth with kamaru Usman and pretty much any one who cared to pay attention, Masvidal has finally dropped some interesting news. While talking on IFL TV, Gamebred teased a fight scheduled around August or September, saying it was going to be someone worth watching. Masvidal has not been in the ring since losing his welterweight challenge last year to Usman.

Heavyweight Bones

Jon Jones has finally made an appearance and he is not the same man, looking bigger, heavier, and more like a heavyweight.
